6 Biblical Truths for Growing Up

Today, we return to our study through the Old Testament, to the book of 1st and 2nd Kings, which brings us through the history of the nation of Israel from Great King David to the destruction of Israel. This book highlights the kings who ruled over that land from generation to generation, and in chapters 1 and 2 we find King David the great King nearing the end of his life, while his teenage son receives the throne. It is a passage of scripture full of truths that speak to these difficult seasons of life: the teenage years, and getting older.
It reminds of a story I heard.

A dad asked his teenage son, "When Abraham Lincoln was your age, do you know what he was doing?" The son said, "No. But I know what he was doing when he was your age."

I pray that these two chapters might give us all a chance to live out the Bible no matter our age.
