Overview

We commit to the future of the people of the Shenandoah Valley, and creating a place for them to build relationships, kids to thrive, and for all to learn the Bible. We commit to the people of GraceBuilt now and to the GraceBuilt lives in the years to come.

Relationships

More than ever, people need people. Christians attend church much less frequently than just a few years ago, making relationships that much harder. But, through godly friendships and serving others, faith grows.

There is no discipleship without relationship.

This is why we have designed cozy, inviting spaces throughout the renovation. Some of the spaces designed for relationship building are the Cafe, Warming Kitchen, Lobby and Outdoor Gathering Area.

Food allows people to spend time together, and helps our church show hospitality. The Cafe will have seating for up to 30 people, which will help build relationships throughout the week; including cafe-style drinks and treats, a warming kitchen to aid in potlucks, pancake breakfasts, newcomers’ lunches, and conferences.

The Lobby features a double-sided fireplace, multiple groupings of sofas and open and flexible space with live plants. These include opportunities for relationship building through casual seating, fire-side seating for morning devotions and small group gatherings, and flexible seating for 12 or more people.

The new outdoor area is a casual gathering place outside that is perfect for mens groups, youth group gatherings and other small groups. This includes tables for meals, adirondacks for drinks, an outdoor stage, firepits, and seating for up to 50 people.

Safety

Growth happens best in safe environments. We value safety for everything from our church gatherings and public events to our daycare and kids ministries.

At GraceBuilt, ministry happens seven days a week. Our church staff, daycare staff and church volunteers all need safe and effective access to the building, in different ways and times. So, we will provide digital access locks with commercial doorways at all entrances, limiting access to only approved personnel each only at times of the day. This will take the shape of digital cards, or codes, for approved personnel. Digital access locking will be placed between the Kids department and the Lobby to create a safe and secure experience for kids during events.

Another security addition will be video monitoring for all kids ministry spaces and exterior entrances. Additionally, infrastructure will be put in place for future security expansion. This will allow live viewing of all video feeds for the Safety Team from within the church office. These feeds will all be backed up online for review as needed. A video doorbell will be installed at the main entrance to limit access during the week.

The estimated cost is $28,000 ($70 / person) for all of these safety improvements.

Worship Experience

GraceBuilt’s worship services empower our community to discover and grow in Jesus. We start each service with worship and prayer followed by a verse-by-verse Bible Study. Spirit-led worship is essential to loving Christ.

Our new auditorium will seat 344 people, including accessible seating areas. Two large projection screens will help you follow along in song and message as well as a strategically selected audio system to improve audio clarity of the worship services for every seat. And improved lighting, and technology infrastructure on the platform and audio/visual booth will help the congregation better see and hear the entire service. These enhancements improve the worship experience for people of all ages and abilities.

Two additional rooms are being created for those with unique needs: a mothers’s room so that new moms with infants can enjoy the worship experience while caring for their little ones, and a sensory room created for people with light, audio and other sensitivities. These auxiliary rooms are multi-purpose, designed to serve as prayer rooms or small group rooms during the week. Our goal is for GraceBuilt Church to remove any barriers keeping people from worship.

The estimated cost is $225,000 ($640 / person or seat) for all equipment and furnishings in the auditorium, Mother’s/prayer room, and the Sensory/Multi-purpose Room.

Online Resources

GraceBuilt helps those near and far learn and live out the Bible. For every two hours people spend in-person with us at GraceBuilt, one hour is spent online learning the Bible with us.  Our website, social media, videos, and online courses serve the people of the Shenandoah Valley and beyond. Our online resources equip people who are sick, shut-in, traveling, or seeking Christ.

When the renovation is complete, we will add to our current equipment: one new camera, tripod and tripod head, improved video connections and a dedicated room with storage and workbenches for the production of live and post-production video.

The estimated cost is $22,000 for these improvements.

Next Generation

We believe that kids are our most important ministry. We are future-focused because the future of the church is already here with the next generation. Through these facility improvements, space for kids at GraceBuilt will approximately triple to make room for kids of all ages.

There will be two multipurpose areas, each dedicated to different age groups — a perfect space for corporate worship, big activities, or large gatherings. Classroom space triples, with flexibility in mind from teen youth groups to elementary-age after-school programs. Classroom space for older kids will have dedicated areas for teaching and play, ensuring developmentally appropriate environments.

This new space provides opportunities for young lives to learn to love Jesus for generations to come. The estimated cost is $30,000 for the next generation furnishings and equipment.
